Email: brookhavenpantherguard@gmail.com
Evan is a native of Pearl, MS, where he grew up surrounded by the arts, music, visual arts, and dance. He was in the choir, the church dance teams, and a trumpet player in the high school marching band. His love for the arts, particularly dance and music, grew throughout high school, where he participated in the band at Pearl High School.
After high school, Evan performed with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps from 2009-2011, earning a spot in the color guard with no previous training or experience. Along with performing with the Madison Scouts, Evan also performed with Statement Independent Winterguard (Starkville, MS) for 4 years, 2009 - 2013. He was co-choreographer for his last three years and co-director for his last two years.
Evan graduated in 2015 from the University of Southern Mississippi with a BFA in Dance (Choreography and Performance), where he performed and choreographed many works. He was active in many different dance ensembles such as the USM Repertory Dance Company and HighDEF hip-hop dance crew. Proceeding graduation, Evan marched with Paramount Winterguard for the 2016 Winter Guard International season. His extensive performance experience has afforded him the opportunity to choreograph for many schools and winter guard groups across the South. When not teaching guard, Evan enjoys spending time with his son, Reese.
Evan, often referred to by the students and staff as “Coach”, has been with the Pride of Ole Brook since 2022 and is happy to be a part of the program and help it grow. With the Ole Brook Bands, Evan’s duties include all things color guard/winter guard-related, helping lead costuming, show, and visual design for the marching band, and writing visual routines and choreography for both the guard and full band.
